I can see God with
opened arms
as He runs to meet me
laughing full of joy for His child
who’s come home to greet Thee

what love the Father has to give
more than one can receive
all is reconciled between us
my heart for Him did grieve

for it was I who moved away
other desires were sought
as self crept in and lust bore sin
and heartache then was wrought

this separation from my God
which had to be addressed
chastened by His mighty hand
peace from me was wrest
____
but only as a Father can
a love which forgives all
encompassed me with warmth so dear
I’m glad I can recall
____
so here I come to seek my Lord
Whose given me my life
to enjoy it once more with Him
no longer in such strife
____
my soul hungers and thirsts for God
no more shall I depart
from being outside His own will
His light outshines the dark
